        A suggestive discussion leading Aho to conclude that there is a rather amorphous cult of apocalyptic nuclear death that had its beginnings with the scientists and engineers of the Manhattan Project and continues among Christian fundamentalists today. The involvement of technocrats in this "cult" lends it a particular legitimacy, no doubt enhanced by nuclear winter scenarists.
