        A short description of the workings of the Church of Satan, with brief notes on magic in general. Alfred observes that the manipulation of belief, perhaps especially in an avowedly manipulative, ego-centered hedonistic group like this, actually conveys power over followers, if only by social assignment and legitimation of charisma. Charisma is at a polar extreme of a continuum of deviance, with stigma occupying the other pole.
