        Argues that Lofland's (1977a) model (see item 439) is too narrowly drawn, owing to the "extreme nature" of his subjects. Among his sample of nine subjects, the author found that only Lofland's "intensive interaction" could be found to apply to all, and none of them reported all seven of his conditions.
