         576. Robbins, Thomas and Dick Anthony, eds., In Gods We Trust: New Patterns of Religious Pluralism in America. New Brunswick, NJ: Transactions Press, 1981b.
According to Robbins (1983) this collection deals mostly with issues of "brainwashing" and with the relationship between "the present religious flux and changing values in American culture." The editors' theorizing relates all this to "discontinuity in American civil religion." Chapters by Hillary and Doress and by Porter support "breakdown in community" theories."
