        Religions of youth culture are secondary groups legitimizing local youth into the larger society. The Unification Church reconstitutes patriotic and theistic values in an authoritarian and totalistic organization. This is "evidence" that American civil religion needs to be reconstructed to avoid anarchy or totalitarianism.
